LISBON

With more than 20 centuries of history, Lisbon is the Portuguese capital, and is located by the Tagus River. With the sun almost always present, and with its unique beauty and architectural uniqueness, Lisbon is known for its unique luminosity and incomparable charm, and has become one of Europe's favorite destinations thanks to its incredible diversity, magnificent landscapes and enviable climate.
Rich in monuments, typical neighborhoods (Baixa Pombalina, Belém, Bairro Alto, Chiado, Bica, Alfama and Mouraria), riverside, Fado houses, parks, gardens and viewpoints, Lisbon offers several possibilities to discover, visit and enjoy the vast heritage natural, historical and cultural city.
Lisbon's history predates that of the country in which it became capital. It was Olissipo, when it was part of the Roman province Lusitania, belonged to different German peoples, before being Al-Ushbuna, the Muslim Lisbon, until the Portuguese conquest in 1147.
Guardian and gateway to the Tagus, she met the splendors of the dawn of international trade, in the 15th century, of which she was one of the main protagonists, being a privileged witness of the splendor of the Discoveries. Monuments such as the Medieval Castle of São Jorge, Medieval Cathedral Sé, Torre de Belém, Jerónimos Monastery, National Pantheon, Terreiro do Paço Square and Baixa Pombalina are some of the tourist attractions in Lisbon that fascinate Millions of visitors from all over the world, and that is what we will visit on this Small Group Tour to Lisbon.
There are strong arguments to consider Lisbon one of the most lively cities in Europe.
During the day, residents and visitors find a place in the sun (or sheltered from the rain) on one of the many terraces that the city has, where they happily chat and let time pass. This spirit lasts until the wee hours of the night, in certain places of the city - with emphasis on Bairro Alto and Cais do Sodré - where Lisbonians and foreigners mix in the narrow streets, glass in hand, or party in underground bars or of live music.

Small Group Tour to

FÁTIMA

Fátima's fame as a pilgrimage site has transformed this city into one of the most sought after destinations in Portugal, attracting millions of pilgrims and curious visitors every year. It is this wonderful place that we are going to visit on this Small Group Tour to Fátima.
Located north of Lisbon, close to the city of Leiria, Fátima is one of the most important religious centers in the world, where the three shepherds allegedly witnessed the apparition of Our Lady, on May 13, 1917.
Legend has it that "a lady brighter than the sun" appeared before the three children, alerting them of the importance of praying and telling them that she would appear again on that same date and time for five consecutive months. He also promised to reveal his identity and perform a miracle on the day of his last appearance. On October 13, at the indicated time, about 200 000 people gathered to watch the last apparition. As people prayed, Our Lady appeared and performed what became known as “Miracle of the Sun”: the sun began to spin rapidly like a ball of fire and the intense rain that until then had ceased, and people's clothes they were miraculously dry.
Then we will visit the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, also called Monastery of Batalha, which is arguably one of the most beautiful works of Portuguese and European architecture. This exceptional architectural ensemble resulted from the fulfillment of a promise made by King D. João I, in gratitude for the victory in Aljubarrota, battle fought on August 14, 1385.
At the Fabulous Beach of Nazaré, place of wonderful fish and seafood restaurants by the sea, currently the great attraction of this city are the waves and the surf, thanks to the “Canhão da Nazaré”, an underwater geomorphological phenomenon that allows the formation of waves giant and perfect. It is the largest submerged gorge in Europe, with about 170 kilometers along the coast, which reaches 5000 meters in depth. Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara gave him world visibility when, in 2011, he surfed the biggest wave in the world on a sandy bottom, about 30 meters high, in Praia do Norte, winning the Billabong XXL Global BigWave Awards and hitting the Guinness Book record.
In Óbidos one of the jewels of Portugal, and that is not a mouth-watering compliment, in addition to tasting the delicious Ginginha liquor, you can walk through the streets of a city inside a wonderful medieval castle, as the perfect culmination for this Small Group Tour to Fatima.
